215/70 VR 14
The Michelin XWX offers exceptional stability at high speeds. This was achieved in part by refining the steel bracing within the tire. When this is combined with an upgraded radial casing, the result is a robust and sophisticated tire capable of excellent handling. This is true even under the hardest driving conditions available at the time. To evidence this, Lamborghini fitted the Countach LP400 with 215/70 VR 14 Michelin XWX tyres on the rear.

Despite the V speed rating displayed on the side wall, this 215/70 VR 14 Michelin XWX tyre is actually rated at W, allowing sustained speeds of up to 168 mph. The W speed rating had not yet been introduced during the tyre's initial development in the 1960s. For the sake of historical precision, the tyre maintains the V designation on the tyre sidewall.
