Pneumatici Ford Prefect
Ford Prefect 1938-1961
1959 Ford Prefect 4 Door Sedan
Camere d'aria Ford Prefect
1960 Ford Prefect 107E

Ford Prefect History
1956 Ford Prefect Canadian Advertisment
The Ford Prefect, produced by the Ford Motor Company in the UK from 1938 to 1961, went through four major redesigns and model name changes during its production. The first model, the E93A, introduced in 1938, had a 1.2-liter inline-four engine, a top speed of 60 mph, and a stamped-steel body, which was a revolutionary design innovation at the time. The E93A underwent minor design changes during its production, including the addition of front and rear flashing indicators.
The Prefect was also used by the military during World War II, despite the production being suspended to allow the factory to be used for military production. The car was used as staff cars and ambulances, demonstrating its versatility and reliability.
In 1949, the E93A was replaced by the E493A, which had a more spacious interior, a 1.2-liter side-valve engine producing 30 horsepower, and a slightly revised grille and headlamps. The Prefect was popular among the British police in the early 1950s due to its reliability and durability, serving as a patrol car. The car's stamped-steel body was considered more durable and easier to produce than traditional wooden frames, making it more affordable and reducing production costs.
The 100E, introduced in 1953, had a modern, streamlined body design, a more powerful 1.2-liter engine producing 36 horsepower, and a more comfortable interior. The car was popular in Australia, where it was used as a taxi due to its spacious interior and fuel efficiency. The car popular in rural communities, where it could handle rough terrain and had good ground clearance.
The third generation of the Prefect was replaced by the 107E in 1959, which featured a slightly larger engine with 39 horsepower, updated exterior design, and improved instrumentation. The 107E was produced until 1961, when it was replaced by the Ford Anglia.
